Alp Okan, a graduate of the Istanbul University State Conservatory and an experienced music director, will showcase a diverse repertoire featuring classical western music, Hollywood musicals, Italian arias, tangos, and world music at the event to be held at Istanbul Airport. You can watch Alp Okan's performance at the International Departures Area between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

08/12/2022 / Oriental Music

An ensemble featuring a lute, clarinet, goblet drum, assorted eastern percussion instruments, and a piano. The group performs Arabic, Azerbaijani, Korean, and Hebrew Jewish songs, as well as pieces from the Ottoman repertoire. Additionally, they play arrangements of English and Spanish cover songs using their eastern musical instruments. The Doğu Music Group will perform at the International Departures Area between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

08/19/2022 / Metin Önderoğlu and his Band (Turkish-World Pop)

Showcasing a vibrant selection of world music, the audience is taken on a musical journey through songs that have left their mark on music history from the 1960s to the present, and performed in nine different languages. Metin Önderoğlu, the group's lead vocalist who also plays electric guitar and harmonica, is accompanied by his fellow band members on the drums, bass guitar, and saxophone. Metin Önderoğlu and his band are scheduled to perform between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. in the Domestic Departures Area.

The No20 band, a group brought together by their shared passion for music, offers an engaging, spirited, and lively entertainment experience. The band will perform in the International Departures Area between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

On departing Istanbul Airport, you can take these jewelry pieces that were designed from your imaginative drawings. Origami refers to the sophisticated art of paper folding. The process typically involves folding square pieces of paper, without the need for cutting or using glue, to create an array of animate and inanimate figures. This event is scheduled to take place in the A-B corridor of the International Departures Area, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Caricature is a type of picutre that employs exaggeration and distortion of its subjects to evoke humor or sarcasm. It is also the use of exaggerated and distorted descriptions in literature, which are presented in drawing format to achieve a similar objective. This event is scheduled to occur in the F corridor of the International Departures Area between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

WORKSHOPS

08/09-11/2022 / Flip Book

Flip Book is a photography activity where short videos taken at kiosks are converted into animation frames and printed as booklets. This activity will be held in the A-B corridor of the International Departures area between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on August 9th, and in the Domestic Departures area at the same times on August 11th.

08/16-18/2022 / Workshop on Wood Burning and Carving

Pyrography is a sophisticated decorative art technique used to embellish wooden, or other suitable material surfaces, with intricate motifs by burning them using specialized metal pens. Take part in this workshop and learn more about this technique in the F corridor of the International Departures area, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on August 16th, 2022, and in the Domestic Departures area on August 18th, 2022.
