iGA Istanbul Airport Contributes $24.2 Billion to the Turkish Economy

iGA Istanbul Airport has released its “Economic Impact Analysis” report, prepared by independent consultancy FTI Türkiye (Istanbul Economics). According to the findings, iGA’s direct and indirect contribution to the Turkish economy reached USD 24.2 billion in 2023, equivalent to 2.2% of the national GDP.

The analysis also highlights forward-looking projections: by 2030, iGA is expected to support 472,000 jobs, generate approximately USD 44 billion in added value, and increase household income by USD 8.5 billion. These forecasts, aligned with global benchmarks set by ACI, confirm the robustness of iGA’s growth plans and underscore the airport’s steadily expanding economic footprint.

iGA management emphasized that these results demonstrate the airport’s significant impact on the national economy despite being a relatively young operation, framing it as both a motivation and a commitment to sustainable growth and long-term value creation.
