Istanbul Airport Introduces Its Own Sign Language Symbol

As part of its vision of being an “Airport for Everyone,” iGA Istanbul Airport has taken another step forward in accessibility by launching a sign language competition. Through this initiative, a unique sign language symbol representing Istanbul Airport was created with the active participation of sign language users.

Trained staff proficient in sign language already provide seamless support at information desks, security checkpoints, and special service areas, while technological solutions such as the Digital Information Kiosk and the Video Call Centre further enhance accessibility.

The newly selected sign language symbol will now be featured across all accessibility points and awareness films, ensuring consistent recognition and communication. With this initiative, Istanbul Airport continues to position itself as a pioneer of a more inclusive and independent travel experience for guests who communicate through sign language.
