With the collaboration of the Ministry of Culture And Tourism, Istanbul Technical University and İGA, Airport Library was opened to offer cultural services for our passengers and the airport staff in the domestic terminal knuckle zone.
The collection of the Airport Library, a first in Turkey, includes nearly 2000 books in various genres from Turkish literature to history, from personal development to fantasy novels.
Our Library, planned to be officially opened on October 4th, 2019 with the efforts of librarians coming from 8 different cities, will also enrich its services by offering periodicals special to our airport, audiobooks/special needs books, e-books, reading zones for children, short stories that can be read on touch screens, and events, etc.
Because our library, located at the domestic terminal, will cooperate with the National Public Library infrastructure, you will be able to return books borrowed from the library prior to your flight to any public library in Turkey, and you can also return books borrowed from public libraries in any city at this library. Thus, it will be possible to read books not only at the airport but also during the journey.
In addition, cultural events are planned on important days and weeks to support a culture of reading, to contribute to the promotion of our country, and to raise awareness about libraries. Passengers will be able to attend activities like tale-walks, reading on the spot, book signing, interactive reading, etc. in the upcoming days.
We invite all book lovers to become members of the Airport library and borrow books.
