The Istanbul Provincial Directorate commission carried out inspections in accordance with the accessibility criteria set in national and international quality standards in categories such as pedestrian pavements, building entrances including parking lots, indoor vertical circulation, indoor horizontal circulation, toilets, guidance, and signs in the Accessibility Monitoring and Inspection form. Proven to have provided the necessary conditions, Istanbul Airport was entitled to receive the "Accessibility Certificate" given by the Provincial Directorate of Family, Labor and Social Services.

With Loud Steps developed within the Istanbul Airport mobile application for the independent travel experience of visually impaired guests at the airport, offering indoor navigation service, and the single-lane Accessible Route practice offered in the departing passenger area at the Domestic Terminal, Istanbul Airport got the gold award at the "CX Awards Turkey - Customer Experience Awards 2021".
