"0" Zero Point Exhibition
January 12, 2022

iGA Istanbul Airport continues to develop socially beneficial initiatives, seamlessly integrating its sustainability policy with its ongoing advancements in the fields of culture and art. Waste collected at iGA Istanbul Airport is transformed into art by artist Deniz Sağdıç and presented to viewers through the "0" Zero Point concept.

  • Through the '0' Zero Point project launched by Istanbul Airport, artist Deniz Sağdıç creates works of art using old uniforms bearing iGA and stakeholder logos, as well as used materials, objects, or items such as plastic containers, trash bags, and cables discovered and identified by Istanbul Airport's Waste Management Center.
  • A collection of 20 artworks, assembled after nearly four months of atelier work by the artist and her team, showcases portraits reflecting the characteristics of various ethnicities and is on display at Istanbul Airport.
  • Launched on January 12, 2022, the exhibition welcomes visitors in the Bosphorus area of the Istanbul Airport International area for three months.
  • A portion of the income generated from the sale of the artworks will be allocated to iGA's Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
  • Istanbul Airport endeavors to motivate its visitors to embrace sustainability through the "0" Zero Point initiative.
  • Visual Artist Deniz Sağdıç, through her "Ready-ReMade" project started in 2015, attempts to repurpose everyday objects and various waste materials, that have been discarded, transforming them into artistic creations within the world of art.
  • The artist aims to take art to a far more familiar level for people by using everyday materials instead of anything that requires specialization and skill, encouraging them to examine their consumer habits, and inspiring both institutions and individuals to pledge their commitment to "sustainability".
  • She emphasizes that art, similar to other sectors and industries, is a matter of sustainability.
  • You can find details about this exhibition on the official İGA ART social media accounts.
