easyJet is today celebrating the inaugural flight of its new route between Istanbul, Türkiye’s largest city, and Manchester. It’s the first time easyJet has flown to the Turkish airport which becomes the 156th destination on easyJet’s extensive short-haul network spanning Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Seats continue to be on sale at easyJet.com and via the mobile app, with fares from £29.99.*The new flights are operating twice a week on Mondays and Fridays, providing a direct connection for customers from the North-West to this unique and iconic city, in addition to existing popular services from Manchester to Antalya and Dalaman. The airline has based an additional Airbus A320neo aircraft in Manchester this summer which becomes the 21st easyJet aircraft to join the airline’s Manchester based fleet, and the sixth A320neo aircraft. Compared to the current generation of aircraft, the NEO brings significant improvements in terms of environmental and operational efficiencies: up to 15% less fuel consumption and therefore less CO2 emissions, and 50% less noise during take-off and landing. easyJet is the largest single-brand operator of NEOs in Europe.
