"We have successfully concluded another year of achievements in the aviation sector."
In his remarks on their achievement of once again winning the 'Airport of the Year' award at the 2023 Air Transport Awards, Kadri Samsunlu, CEO of iGA Istanbul Airport, emphasized that, "At iGA Istanbul Airport, we have achieved some remarkable accomplishments throughout the year, which we achieved despite the numerous challenges we have faced. While our airport has maintained its position as Europe's busiest international hub for three years, it has also become one of Europe's most resilient airports operationally, serving 64.5 million passengers last year. Due to the catastrophic earthquakes that occurred in Türkiye, we were unable to attend the ceremony. Securing the 'Airport of the Year' award at the Air Transport Awards serves as a testament to our resilience in Türkiye and at iGA Istanbul Airport, even in the wake of such a catastrophic disaster. Our priority is ensuring that all our passengers experience a smooth and pleasant travel experience. We remain committed to maintaining our operational excellence, ensuring that the quality of our airport's services is evident to employees, stakeholders, and passengers alike. I would like to express my thanks to everyone who has made this possible, through their dedication and hard work."
