Taking firm steps towards being the best airport in the world, iGA Istanbul Airport continues to be awarded by prestigious institutions. Global Traveler, a US-based travel magazine with an estimated 500,000 monthly readers, recognized iGA Istanbul Airport as 'The Best Airport for Layovers' at the 2022 Leisure Lifestyle Awards, held for the 10th time this year, and as 'The Best Family-Friendly International Airport' at the 2022 Wherever Awards, held for the fifth time this year.

As part of Global Traveler's annual survey, readers determine the best airports in the world by voting on travel-related services, destinations, hotels, airlines, and cruises, drawing from their personal experiences. Among those ranked, iGA Istanbul Airport was followed by Miami International Airport and Singapore Changi Airport in the 'Best Airport for Layovers' category.

At the award ceremony, held on June 7 at The Lotos Club in New York, both awards were received by iGA Corporate Communications Director, Gökhan Şengül, on behalf of iGA Istanbul Airport. In his address, Şengül highlighted that they have gained the admiration of these esteemed organizations through their rapid advancements and groundbreaking initiatives.
