‘Late Fridays’ at Istanbul Modern Supported by İGA ART

The "Late Friday" events, sponsored by İGA ART, aim to foster a deep connection with participants by incorporating diverse forms of expression, with a particular focus on dance.

ISTANBUL – İGA ART, the culture and arts platform of iGA Istanbul Airport, is launching the “Late Friday” event series in collaboration with the Istanbul Modern Museum. Supported by İGA ART and held every two months on Fridays, these workshops blend various music and dance genres—including blues, pop, swing, funk, and hip-hop. During these events, Istanbul Modern will extend its visiting hours until 8:00 PM.

The "Late Friday" program will feature a Hip-Hop Dance Workshop in May, a Sound Workshop in July, a Lindy Hop Dance Workshop in September, a Salsa Dance Workshop in November, and will conclude with a Blues Dance Workshop in January 2027.
Oya Eczacıbaşı, Chair of the Board of Istanbul Modern, stated: "While enriching our museum programs with an interdisciplinary approach, we prioritize offering a living culture and arts environment accessible to visitors of all ages and interests at varying hours of the day. Inaugural Event: Solo Jazz Dance

Led by expert institutions and professionals, the workshop program will bring museum visitors together with the rhythm of music and dance throughout the year. The series kicks off with the Solo Jazz Dance Workshop on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 6:30 PM. Conducted by the Hepcats Istanbul team, participants will learn the fundamental movements of improvised dance accompanied by jazz music. Visitors with a valid museum ticket can join the workshop by making a reservation.
