Sun d'Or Airlines Resumes Flights to iGA Istanbul Airport

Sun d'Or Airlines, a subsidiary of the Israeli El Al Group, has announced the resumption of its flights to Türkiye. The inaugural flight took place on Thursday, March 30, and the airline has scheduled four weekly flights to Istanbul on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
- Sun d'Or Airlines, a subsidiary airline of the El Al Group, dispatched a humanitarian aircraft to the earthquake-affected areas in collaboration with the Union and Salvation Organization. The airline had recently declared its intention to resume flights to Türkiye following a 15-year hiatus.
- Sun d'Or, an Israeli airline company, operated its first flight to iGA Istanbul Airport on Thursday, March 30. A welcome reception was held at Gate D8, on the International Arrivals floor of iGA Istanbul Airport. Gal Gershon, CEO of Sun d'Or, and Melih Mengü, Advisor to the CEO at iGA Istanbul Airport, attended the reception as representatives.
- Sun d'Or Airlines will operate flights four times a week to iGA Istanbul Airport, on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. With tickets priced at $199, flights will be operated on Sun d'Or/El Al aircraft, which also offer Business Class seating. Economy Class passengers will have the opportunity to upgrade to Business Class seats for an additional fee.
- During the ceremony, Advisor to the CEO of iGA Istanbul Airport, Melih Mengü, stated, "We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Sun d’Or Airlines for dispatching a relief aid flight to the region affected by the earthquakes. We are delighted and excited to, once again, welcome an Israeli airline to iGA Istanbul Airport. The collaboration between Sun d’Or and iGA Istanbul Airport provides a valuable opportunity to strengthen the relationship between Türkiye and Israel."
- Sun d'Or CEO, Gal Gershon, stated that, "Today, we are commencing operations in a region that we have not operated in for 15 years, and we are doing this with Istanbul. We are also pleased to see the strengthening of the relations between the two countries. We will continue to develop our relationship in terms of both humanitarian and tourism purposes. Istanbul has always been a preferred destination for the Israeli people, and we plan to introduce flights to additional vacation destinations in Türkiye in the future."
