The CEO of iGA Istanbul Airport has been recognized as one of 28 influential leaders in the Global Aviation Sector.
Kadri Samsunlu, CEO of iGA Istanbul Airport, has been appointed as a member of the Board of Directors for ACI World, an umbrella organization for the sub-councils representing five continents in the world aviation sector. iGA Istanbul Airport has been recognized with two awards from ACI Europe for its accomplishments in human resources policies and sustainability initiatives.
During the ACI Europe General Assembly, held from June 22nd to 24th in Rome, Italy, it was announced that Kadri Samsunlu, CEO of iGA Istanbul Airport, had been selected as an Executive Board Member for ACI World. Airports Council International (ACI World) comprises 717 members operating across 185 countries and regions, encompassing 1,950 airports.
ACI World, a prominent global umbrella organization in the aviation sector, is responsible for policy-making, training, and research and development activities aimed at fostering industry growth and advancing aviation. The Executive Board members, elected from among the 717 members, represent their respective countries on the ACI World Board of Directors and hold responsibility for executing decisions pertaining to the aviation industry.

Kadri Samsunlu, CEO of iGA Istanbul Airport, expressed his pride in representing the Turkish aviation industry at ACI World, one of the most significant organizations in the aviation sector, stating, "ACI World has entrusted us with a crucial responsibility. This role brings with it an immense responsibility. Last year, I was elected to the Board of Directors of ACI Europe. I have recently discovered that I will serve on the Board of Directors of ACI World again this year. During his tenure as a member of the Board of Directors of ACI World, our focus will be on strengthening the relations between ACI and the Turkish aviation sector at all levels, and striving to create maximum value for all stakeholders through sustainable growth."

A double award came from ACI Europe for iGA's HR policies and sustainability efforts.
iGA Istanbul Airport, which has been presented with successive awards as a top global airport, has, this year, been honored with the 'Eco-Innovation Award' and the 'Human Resources Excellence Award' at the 18th ACI Europe Awards, organized by the Airports Council International. Furthermore, during the 18th ACI Europe Awards, Rome Fiumicino Airport was chosen as the 'Best Airport in Europe' in the category of airports with a capacity exceeding 40 million passengers, while iGA Istanbul Airport received a 'Highly Commended' award in the same category. Kadri Samsunlu, CEO of iGA Istanbul Airport, accepted both awards at the ceremony held in Rome, Italy.
In June, iGA Istanbul Airport was awarded an upgraded 'Carbon Emission Certificate,' achieving 3rd Level status, as part of the Airport Carbon Accreditation from the Airports Council International (ACI Europe). During the ACI Europe Annual Congress & General Assembly ceremony held in Rome, the certificate was presented to İsmail Hakkı Polat, iGA Istanbul Airport Chief Planning Officer.
As a reuslt, iGA Istanbul Airport received accolades from a total of five international organizations in June. US-based travel magazine, Global Traveler, presented iGA Istanbul Airport with the 'Best Connecting Airport' award at the 2022 Leisure Lifestyle Awards, as well as the 'Most Family-Friendly International Airport' at the 2022 Wherever Awards. Additionally, iGA Istanbul Airport garnered the Airline Passenger Experience Association's (APEX) 'Extraordinary Success' Award, EMEA Finance's 'Best Syndicated Loan in the EMEA Region,' and the 'Deal of the Year' awards. Following an evaluation by Skytrax, a renowned UK-based aviation rating agency, iGA was once again honored with the prestigious '5-Star Airport' award, which it also won in 2020. iGA also received accolades for the 'Most Family-Friendly Airport,' 'Airport Providing the Best Shopping Experience in the World,' and 'Best Airport in Southern Europe.' iGA Istanbul Airport also made significant progress in the 'World's Best Airports' list, securing the 8th position.
