
Transavia Airlines, a subsidiary of the Air France-KLM group, is starting direct flights from Paris Orly Airport to iGA Istanbul Airport four days a week, and from Lyon Saint Exupery Airport twice a week.
iGA Istanbul Airport, a global hub and Türkiye's gateway to the world, continues to host new airlines. iGA Istanbul Airport recently started services for airlines such as FlyOne, Fly Dubai, Air Arabia, HiSky, Skyuo, Probeda Airlines, Azimuth Airlines, UT Air Aviation, Ural Airlines, and Nordwind Pegas/Ikar, and has also entered into an agreement with Transavia Airlines, a subsidiary of the Air France-KLM group.
According to this agreement, and starting at the end of October 2022, Transavia Airlines will operate direct flights to iGA Istanbul Airport from Paris Orly Airport (ORY) four days a week, and from Lyon Saint Exupery Airport (LYS) twice a week.

Majid Khan, Airline and Cargo Marketing Director at iGA Istanbul Airport, stated that in collaboration with these other prominent European airports and airlines, iGA Istanbul Airport is aspiring to reach its target of 60 million passengers by the end of 2022, outperforming numerous other airports with the superior travel experience it offers to passengers.
Khan stated that, "In order for us to achieve this goal, flights from new airports to Istanbul are crucial, and our growth plan is founded on this collaboration with new airport companies. Lastly, we are delighted to enter into an agreement with Transavia Airlines. Transavia Airlines will commence direct flights from Paris Orly and Lyon to iGA Istanbul Airport towards the end of October. Once these flights are established, our already growing passenger traffic is expected to rise even higher. Our goal is to accommodate 60 million passengers by the conclusion of 2022, in collaboration with our 71 airline partners operating 270 direct routes. As flights commence in the upcoming months, passengers traveling with Transavia Airlines will initially have the opportunity to experience our airport, followed by Istanbul, a city rich in history, culture, and diverse culinary delights.
Nicolas Hénin, Transavia France's Chief Commercial Officer, stated, "Istanbul is a premium destination worth a visit in any season. We are delighted to offer this new service to passengers using Paris Orly Airport. This new route will expand our already extensive flight offerings to additional countries. Our objective is to establish a long-term presence in the Turkish market, with the expansion of our flights to Ankara.
