International Certification in Carbon Management
iGA Istanbul Airport has been awarded the Level 1 Carbon Accreditation by Airports Council International (ACI), marking an important milestone in its sustainability journey. The accreditation certifies that the airport measures and reports its greenhouse gas emissions in line with the ISO 14064-1 standard, gaining international recognition in carbon management.
By establishing a greenhouse gas inventory compliant with ISO 14064-1, iGA has implemented a wide range of measures to reduce carbon emissions. These include digital systems for energy monitoring, mechanical automation, efficient winter cooling solutions, and IoT-based applications. Integrated with the ISO 50001 Energy Management System, the approach ensures that all emission sources are effectively tracked and continuously improved.
With this certification, iGA Istanbul Airport reaffirms its determination to advance steadily on its net-zero carbon roadmap.
