“Saya's Voice” Welcomed Visitors at iGA Istanbul Airport
iGA Istanbul Airport has unveiled “Saya’s Voice”, the winning artwork of the iGA ART Art Projects Competition, created by young artist Betül Kotil. Dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye, the installation incorporates 1,923 bells and is displayed beneath the viaduct at the airport’s metro exit.
Selected unanimously from among 221 submissions, “Saya’s Voice” received the grand prize of ₺1 million, the largest award ever given in a Turkish art competition. The project brings together Anatolia’s rich cultural memory with contemporary art, creating a unique encounter for international travellers passing through the airport.
Through iGA ART, iGA not only opens new creative spaces for emerging artists but also aims to transform 16 additional locations within the airport into platforms for cultural expression. With “Saya’s Voice”, Istanbul Airport takes a bold step forward, emerging not only as a global transfer hub but also as a gateway to culture and art for the world.
