Through the iGA Istanbul Airport Occupational Health and Safety Policy and the ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System Standard, practices that safeguard a safe working environment and protect health are ensured.
Within the iGA OHS Management System, validated through international certifications and audits, we take the following steps to ensure the health and safety of everyone at the airport:
- Structuring processes and procedures within our management system and applying them effectively to protect human health.
- Conducting on-site inspections and carrying out risk and opportunity assessments.
- Promoting a positive OHS culture through training and awareness-raising activities.
- Determining joint control measures for protecting health and safety through effective stakeholder communication.
- Encouraging employees to report hazards and near misses, supported by a reward system.
- Carefully investigating notifications received through different communication channels and taking necessary precautions.
- Investigating incidents resulting in injury or health deterioration, analyzing root causes, and taking measures to prevent recurrence.
- Ensuring uninterrupted OHS services with 24/7 emergency health and clinic operations.
- Using electric vehicles such as buggies and segway scooters for rapid emergency medical interventions, and maintaining ambulances on standby at critical locations.
Implementation of OHS Golden Rules
Safe and healthy working rules have been established across general workflows, passenger services, construction and maintenance operations, stakeholder and supplier activities, as well as all subcontractor operations at iGA Istanbul Airport. To ensure full compliance with the Ten OHS Golden Rules, training, awareness, and monitoring processes are systematically implemented.
