You can use public transportation or a taxi to reach the city center. For transportation options, please visit HAVAİST at; https://hava.ist and İETT at https://www.iett.istanbul.
For information about HAVAİST bus schedules, visit https://hava.ist. The transport floor, where HAVAİST and İETT buses depart from, can be accessed from floor -2, which can be reached by using the elevators located in front of the arrival and departure entrance gates, and following the "Transport Floor" signs.
Payments can be made in cash at ticket counters or designated intermediate stops or by debit/credit card in the vehicle. You can also obtain a QR code before boarding by making an online payment through the HAVAİST mobile application or the hava.ist website and use this code when boarding.
The airport parking area, which has a capacity for 40,000 cars, offers parking, valet, and car maintenance services. Central services, such as car wash, car detailing, tire change and storage, mini maintenance, and various other authorized services, are provided. Get pricing information by entering the dates on which you are going to leave your vehicle, in the Car Park & Valet section of our website. These rates are determined in line with the parking fees established by the DHMI (General Directorate of State Airports Authority) Public-Private Partnership (KÖİ).
Parking fees can be paid in cash or by credit card using the manual payment devices on floor P3 of the red and purple parking lots, as well as the 30 automatic payment devices located next to the moving walkways on floor P5, at the L02 axis near the P2 exit points, and next to the elevators on the P6 terrace. Alternatively, credit card payments can be made at the information desks on the departures floor or through the Istanbul Airport mobile application.
Currently, our parking area does not offer a reservation system
The X-ray scanners used at Istanbul Airport are only used to inspect your belongings. Alternative scanning systems (door-type and handheld detectors) do not rely on X-ray technology.
You can choose an alternative scanning method (pat-down search, in-cabin search) as determined by the checkpoint staff.
In line with airport regulations, security checks for children classified as special category passengers, can be conducted by a pat-down search.
Security checks for special category passengers, such as children, pregnant women, and those who use cardiac pacemakers, can be conducted through a pat-down search.
Please consult your airline for information about taking products purchased in the Duty Free area, into the aircraft cabin.
If there is no fluid inside the ice pack, it can be taken onboard as cabin baggage, without being subject to any liquid restrictions.
Oversized or irregular-shaped baggage must be scanned at the oversized baggage X-ray machine at entrance gate number 7. Please contact your airline company prior to your arrival at the airport, as oversized baggage can be sent to the hold via the oversized baggage counters at check-in islands C, E, G, L, N, and R.
In accordance with the National Civil Aviation Security Program, professional camera film is inspected using special Changing Tents. If no Changing Tent is available, the film must be scanned by the security device, with consent from the owner; if no consent is given, the film will not be permitted to pass.
All of our check-in counters can accommodate passengers with reduced mobility. The decision to appoint special check-in counters for families, elderly passengers, or passengers with reduced mobility is the responsibility of the airline company. Currently, Turkish Airlines offers this service at our airport.

Accessible restrooms for passengers with reduced mobility are available at each restroom area throughout our airport. Our restrooms feature sensor-activated doors and audible occupied/vacant notifications, and they can be locked from the inside with a button. In addition, five of our accessible restrooms feature commode wheelchairs:
- Arrivals floor, check-in area, opposite check-in island E,
- Departures floor, after passport control, opposite Gate A2,
- Departures floor, after passport control, opposite Gate B1,
- Departures floor, after passport control, between Gates D2-D4,
- Departures floor, after passport control, opposite Gate F1.

The iGA Pass is currently only valid at Istanbul Airport.
Three service and sales points are located on the departures floor. These Passenger Service Points are located at counter D in the domestic area, and counter M in the international area. A third Passenger Service Point is located next to the Information Desk after passport control.
The iGA Lounge is located on the international departures floor. The iGA Lounge locations can be accessed on the Airport Map or via our Istanbul Airport mobile application.
In order for your pet to travel with you, you will need to take your pet through the relevant security checkpoints.
