Employee Development and Training with iGA Academy

Through the iGA Academy platform, we provide our employees with access to both mandatory and personal training opportunities via digital courses, workshops, webinars, and more, supporting them throughout their learning and personal development journeys.

We foster the professional growth of our employees while continuously improving organizational competencies and strengthening our culture of sustainability. In doing so, we accelerate progress toward our sustainability goals. As the only aviation academy in Europe accredited by ICAO, TSA, Eurocontrol, ACI, IATA, and Women in Aviation, we reinforce our position as a regional leader.

Our global partnerships not only support the development of our employees but also enhance our company’s international presence. Since 2023, 11 employees have gained experience in different organizations through our ongoing Global Employee Exchange/Secondment Programs.

With agreements signed with more than 10 universities, we provide incentives for master’s and doctoral studies. Since the launch of this initiative in 2023, 30 of our colleagues have benefited from these opportunities.

Through our educational partnerships and the events we participate in, our impact extends beyond our employees to also include students. As part of our signature course program, experts from different departments of iGA Istanbul Airport deliver 14-week airport management courses each year to 100 students across 5 universities.

We have made all mandatory trainings accessible for our hearing-impaired employees by incorporating sign language support. To encourage employees to learn sign language, we organized dedicated training programs, with 144 employees completing the training. Sign language has been included under our language compensation scheme, with 30 employees eligible for compensation. According to ICAO and ACI data, with 228 personnel fluent in sign language, iGA Istanbul Airport ranks first among airports worldwide.

Among the resources we provide to support continuous learning are İGApedia, the Global Aviation Glossary, and our library named in memory of our colleague Mehmet Emin Kaynak, whom we lost during the pandemic.
