At iGA Istanbul Airport, launched under the vision of a “Smart Airport”, we continuously optimize our digitalization processes by leveraging cutting-edge technologies, products, and services. Through automation and data analytics-based systems, we monitor our operations in real time, intervene rapidly to prevent losses and leakages, and improve our decision-making processes.

A central component of our digitalization initiatives is Robotic Process Automation (RPA), which automates clearly defined processes. This allows our employees to dedicate their time to more strategic and value-added tasks.

To further improve operational efficiency, we make extensive use of IoT technology infrastructure. By remotely monitoring meters, analyzers, and calorimeters across the airport, we gather real-time data. We respond instantly to malfunctions in air navigation systems, remotely track drainage pumps and wastewater lift stations, and manage technical areas’ temperature and humidity levels, the wastewater treatment plant, water reservoirs, and irrigation systems through our IoT monitoring network—making our operations more efficient.

Through the Istanbul Airport mobile application, we provide services in seven languages, offering real-time flight information, personalized travel profiles, and notifications to enhance passenger experience. The app also ensures easy access to dining areas, retail stores, and other services within the terminal, with interactive maps and wayfinding tools. Our AI-powered chatbot delivers quick and effective responses to passenger queries, while parking and valet services are seamlessly accessible via mobile payment. In addition, our corporate WhatsApp line supports passengers by providing real-time flight information to those who request it.

Beyond our own operational processes, we continuously improve our digital systems to simplify workflows and increase efficiency for our ecosystem stakeholders. With our AI-powered CiGAWise platform, stakeholders can quickly access Istanbul Airport manuals and operational information via WhatsApp. This system not only saves time but also ensures accessible and sustainable knowledge sharing.
